Pure attitude – that was Versace Fall 2018. Raucous patterns in gold and scarlet saw models walking a strange line between preppy and imperial – were these models students? Or Royalty?
The big cats came out to prowl, with leopard and tiger prints weaved in both subtly and as statement outerwear. Irregularly cut and patched into the prints were traditional tartans, paying tribute to Versace heritage. There was plenty to share in accessories too, from logo pins and up-cycled cutlery bracelets to heavy gold wallet chains.
The finished product was a range of outfits too brash and confident to ignore. Versace played the bold card in this show; no doubt they won the hand.
